AI Features FAQ

1. How do I access the Artificial Intelligence tool?

  • Simply log in to your iTX Cloud PACS account at here.
  • Once you log in, you will see a new column called “AI Report” on the right side of the screen.

2. How do I send an image for diagnosis?

  • Find the study or patient you want to send for diagnosis.
  • Click the “Ask AI” button on the right side.
  • Select the image you want to send for diagnosis. You can also send all images for diagnosis one at a time.
  • Then, at the top of the screen, you’ll find a list of body parts, select the corresponding part of the animal’s body or the position scanned based on the image you selected:
    • VHS: Vertebral Heart Score
    • MKS: Musculoskeletal
    • Thorax
    • Abdomen
  • And click “submit”. Within seconds, you will receive a PDF document with the results in a new window.

3. How do I know I’m sending the right image?

Even artificial intelligence cannot guarantee accurate interpretation of images that are difficult for humans to read. If AI diagnoses a poorly taken image, the interpretation results may differ from reality.

The better the image quality, the more accurate the diagnosis, as AI relies on the details shown in the image.

How to Determine Which Image is Best to Send

  • Avoid images with excessive blank space or include unintended body parts by cropping the image before sending it to the PACS.
  • Ensure images have sufficient clarity and avoid those with surgical instruments visible.
  • Uploading full-body shots is not recommended as they can affect analysis accuracy.
  • For thorax images, prioritise the left lateral view for higher analysis accuracy.

Alternatively, access the guide through the Cloud PACS; it’s available at the top of the screen before submitting the image.

4. What Can Be Diagnosed by the X Caliber?

The AI can only detect diseases listed in the “range of findings” for X Caliber. Findings not included in this range cannot be identified by the AI. You can find the specific list of detectable conditions here.

This system is continually improving, with additional findings being incorporated over time. Presently, it can diagnose 47 different diseases in cats and dogs using X-ray images. Please note that X Caliber does not detect pregnancies.

5. How do I interpret the results it brings back? Is it accurate?

The AI provides a degree of accuracy based on a percentage probability. This tool will not replace your team but will offer your nurses a level of confidence or reassurance in your diagnosis.

X Caliber is designed to mark all items that show similarity to a learned condition or disease, even if the possibility is low. The score (%) displayed in the AI analysis indicates the likelihood of having the disease. It does not reflect the severity or progress of the disease.

  • Red:According to AI, The finding exists.
  • Yellow: The finding is likely to exist.
  • Blue: A suspected finding that requires further examination.

The system also generates a tailored treatment plan based on the diagnosis results. This includes specific recommendations for medication, therapy, or further tests needed to address the identified condition.

6. Is X Caliber right for me?

  • If you run a small animal veterinary practice, X Caliber can significantly enhance your team’s diagnostic confidence and efficiency. This invaluable tool complements your existing team rather than replacing any members.
  • By assisting in the production of more accurate and faster X-ray diagnosis results, it allows your staff to make more informed decisions quickly. This not only improves the quality of care you can offer but also increases your practice’s capacity to handle more cases effectively, potentially creating new income sources.
  • The AI is specifically designed for small animals, such as dogs and cats. If your practice focuses exclusively on larger animals, like horses, this tool would not be suitable for your needs.
  • The AI encourages offering more X-ray diagnoses to your patients by making the process more efficient and reliable. After a diagnosis is made, X Caliber also provides a detailed treatment plan, streamlining the next steps in patient care.
