Veterinary education works best when it is hands-on, realistic, and taught by practitioners who face the same clinical challenges you do every day. From 28–30 August 2026, ATX Medical Solutions was proud to support the 3-Day Equine Veterinary Dentistry Workshop and Wetlab held across UWA (Crawley) and the Dental Vet Clinic (Forrestdale).
Organised and led by experienced WA equine veterinarian Dr Kirsten Jackson alongside guest equine practitioners, the event brought together 17 veterinary delegates, 2 lecturers, and 5 vet students for three days focused on clinical decision-making, anatomy, and practical intervention.
Designed for Genuine Hands-On Exposure
Equine dental procedures require physical feel, clear anatomical understanding, and sound judgment under field conditions. To make sure every vet got quality time on tools:
Theory & Cadavers: Deep-dive lectures paired with structured cadaver labs to refine technique before working on live cases.
Intensive Live Sessions: Live horse practicals were intentionally capped at two veterinarians per horse, giving delegates direct feedback and maximum time to work through real cases under experienced supervision.

Practical Field Solutions on Display
Equine practitioners spend long hours holding heavy generators and balancing equipment in paddocks and stables. At the ATX table, we focused on equipment designed to lighten the daily workload without losing diagnostic quality.
1. Lightening the Load: Poskom AirRay Mini & Vieworks Series F DR
Holding a portable X-ray unit steady at awkward angles takes a physical toll over a long week of farm visits. The Poskom AirRay Mini Generator drew strong interest from delegates—particularly female vets looking for a significantly lighter, lower-profile generator that still delivers the power required for clean equine dental and distal limb exposures.
Paired with the high-resolution Vieworks Series F DR Plate, the combo offers quick acquisition times and sharp trabecular detail directly to your tablet or laptop.
2. Personalised Radiation PPE
Protection shouldn’t mean boring. Our display featured custom-fitted radiation protection gowns with a wide selection of custom patterns and colors, letting clinical teams stay protected with gear tailored to their practice style.
Put to the Test: Dr Kirsten Jackson’s Feedback
Dr Kirsten Jackson has trusted ATX diagnostic imaging equipment in her clinical practice since 2003. On the second day of the workshop, Kirsten tested the latest Poskom AirRay Mini and Vieworks Series F combo during live practical imaging.
Comparing the exposure quality and handling to her current setup, Dr Jackson noted:
“It was great to see the Poskom AirRay—it is so small and light and looks great! They are very nice images and definitely more detailed than our current system.”
Test the AirRay Mini in Your Own Practice
If you’re looking to reduce physical strain on ambulatory calls or want clearer diagnostic detail on equine dental and orthopedic studies, we’d be glad to show you how the AirRay Mini handles in person.
